Overview

Ultimate App Guard is a privacy protection app designing to help you to lock down privacy-sensitive applications from un-authorized access on your Android device, such as Messaging, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Google Play, etc. The app is optimized to consume very little battery.

In next tabs, you will see more detail on following topics:

• Profile: Allow you to choose which apps to lock from which “target”.

Create new profile

Tap on Add button on Action bar ? Add profile screen ? enter new profile name, change profile icon by tapping on small image beside profile name (optional), change lock method (optional, default is PIN - 888), change validity period (optional, default is App goes background) ? click NEXT.

  

Modify profile

At bottom right of profile screen tap on Profile settings to profile settings screen.

Tap to change

• Profile name
• Profile icon
• Lock method: read for more lock methods information.
• Unlock all apps in the same profile with the app has just been unlocked
• Validity period: the period of time the app remaining unlocked after being closed or going background.
• Schedule time: schedule when the profile gets activated and deactivated.

Add/remove apps into/out of locked list

Up to App Selection Behavior (in App Setting/App Behavior, read this for more information).

 

Lock methods

UAG offers 7 lock methods

PIN

Enter PIN to unlock app

Setup PIN

Choose PIN from lock method options dialog ? get into setup PIN screen ? enter your new PIN ? click NEXT ? reenter your new PIN ? click NEXT ? enter your PIN hint (optional) ? click FINISH.

    

Password

Enter password to unlock app

Setup password

Choose Password from lock method options dialog ? get into setup Password screen ? enter your new password ? click NEXT ? reenter your new password ? click NEXT ? enter your password hint (optional) ? click FINISH.

    

Pattern

Enter pattern to unlock app

Setup pattern

Choose Pattern from lock method options dialog ? get into setup Pattern screen ? enter your new pattern ? click NEXT ? reenter your new pattern ? click NEXT ? enter your pattern hint (optional) ? click FINISH.

    

Dial

Dial a number that you setup to query a list of apps belonging to locked list.

Setup dial number

Choose Dial from lock method options dialog ? get into setup Dial screen ? enter your new number ? click FINISH.

Force Close Screen

A fake force close dialog will be shown. Tap on the message N times to unlock the app.

Choose Dial from lock method options dialog ? get into setup Force Close screen ? customize options ? click FINISH.

• Number of clicks: the amount of clicks to unlock the app by tapping on the message.
• Available time: after this period of time, tapping on the message to unlock the app is no longer in use.

Text Screen

A text screen will be shown when you try to open a locked app. Click on TOP/RIGHT corner N times to open the app.

Setup Text Screen

Choose Text Screen from lock method options dialog ? get into setup Text Screen screen ? customize options ? click OK.

• Text: the message will be shown on the text screen.
• Text color: color of the message.
• Text font: font of the message.
• Text size: size of the message.
• Background: background of the screen: black, white, use wallpaper as background, use theme background.
• Text goes bottom-up: NO – text shown up at once, on the contrary – YES.
• Number of clicks: the amount of clicks to unlock the app by tapping on the TOP/RIGHT corner.
• Available time: after this period of time, tapping on the TOP/RIGHT corner to unlock the app is no longer in use.

Image Screen

An image screen will be shown when you try to open a locked app. Click on TOP/RIGHT corner N times to open the app.

Setup Image Screen

Choose Image Screen from lock method options dialog ? get into setup Image Screen screen ? customize options ? click OK.

• Image: the image will be shown on the image screen.
• Number of clicks: the amount of clicks to unlock the app by tapping on the TOP/RIGHT corner.
• Available time: after this period of time, tapping on the TOP/RIGHT corner to unlock the app is no longer in use.

  

General

• App Guard’s lock method: setup UAG’s lock method. How to setup lock, read this.
• Profile mode: Enable/Disable multi profile locking mode.
• Invisible mode: Hide UAG’s icon from launcher or not.

App behavior

• Enable: enable or disable UAG.
• Use on/off slider: use on/off slider to activate or deactivate UAG 
• App selection behavior: add or remove app into/ out of locked list by click, long click or drag_drop.
• Launch apps from UAG
• Automatic Unlocking: App will be automatically unlock once right code entered.
• Automatic Closing: App will be automatically closed after this time of entering wrong code.

Code recovery

• Recovery mail: Lock code will be sent to you through this email.
• Secret questions: in case that you do not want to give us your email address, use this utility to reset your lock.

Look and feel

• Invisible pattern: show track when you draw pattern or not.
• Use wall paper as background
• Change theme: read this.
• Display Language: choose language for UAG.
• Translate to your language: help us translate this app to other language.

There is always a Code Recovery button at the bottom right of the lock screen. Hit it. Then, if you setup your recovery mail, a mail with your forgotten code will be sent to you. if you setup your secret question(s), you will get into Secret Question Recovery Code screen, answer the question(s) and reset your lock. If you setup both (recovery mail and secret question(s)), a dialog will show up.

 Choose which one you want to use.

How to setup Code Recovery

When UAG runs for the first time, there will be setting up screens. Two of them are for recovery mail and secret questions (remember to click SAVE before leaving setup secret question screen).

 

There is another way to setup Code Recovery. It is through App Settings.

    

Choose theme by clicking on Theme button

Note

After theme is applied, if Use wall paper option is still checked, theme background won’t be shown.
